New Website!!!

Wow! Finally getting our NEW! website up and running! The new page looks great! Now comes the fun of getting it ready for the crawlers! Anyway!

We are getting ready to perform in South Texas. For security reasons, we cannot give out our exact location of deployment. We have been to this location on many other occassions, so we already have made some positive strides at these locations.

Need to get to the gym today and hit it hard. People don't realize what it takes to "consistantly" do what we do! The gym, the wrestling mat, the heavy bag, the pool, a hill to run,the rock wall, something tall to rappell off of, just to name a few. Then you have to watch what you eat otherwise you become a HUGE FAT commando that can't do any of the good stuff without huff -n -puffin!

Okay, now my blurb to all Princiapals at the public schools. Now is the time to schedule your assembly program for the Spring! Everyone waits until two weeks before they need us, and, well, then it is totally hit or miss if we are booked already. I would also like to address the very issue of school assembly programs. I hear a lot of talk that assembly programs just take the kids out of the class room. Well, has ANYONE given it any thought that the classroom does not necessarily have to be "the classroom!"

As MANY top Principals, many that have Recognized and Exemplary schools, AND have had us on their campus tell us; school assembly programs help the kids from an emotional standpoint. One principal told us he looks at school assemblies as a "celebrative experience." A time when the WHOLE school comes together to scream, laugh and just enjoy learning. When we take all the fun out of education, does anyone really learn, or perhaps do we just create "great test takers?" Rote memorizaton is great...sometime. But unless a kid understands the "BIG" picture of life, they don't get WHY they need to make good grades, WHY they need to have self-control, WHY they need to have excellence in their work ethic. Academic education teaches some much more than the "THREE R's!"

An assemlby program with a REAL message is VERY important in the overall scheme. That is the key phrase. "A REAL MESSAGE." You would not believe the number of Principals that tell me about an assembly program they had that was entertaining, but the message was poorly communicated, if the at all. Some Princiapls have told us story after story as to WHY they don't like having assemblies at their school. It usually points back to the lack of MESSAGE.

At Commandos! USA®, we are continually scanning the myspace pages, face book pages and talking with young people ALL the time, from ALL walks of life to find out what is going on in "THEIR" world. We then spend countless hours discussing issues and laying out strategic messages that use "key words and phrases" that communicate to the age group we are addressing. Not just an adult TRYING to sound cool, but bring up topics and "being REAL" with the kids! This is one of the MANY things we do to CREATE a REAL message that has TEETH to it!
